Kosovo Summer School

Dear students,
It is with great pleasure to announce that the call for applications for Kosovo International Summer Academy 2019 – Part I and Part II, with a special focus on “Peace building in post-conflict areas – Diplomacy, Leadership and Negotiations”, are now open!  Date/Venue:KSA Part I: 10 – 20 July 2019, Prishtina, KosovoKSA Part II: 12 – 22 August 2019, Prishtina, Kosovo *Applicants can apply and attend only one of the sessions (either Part I or PART II)

Scholarships: A number of scholarships are available for most qualified applicants. 

Description: This July (10 – 20) and August (12 – 22), Kosovo International Summer Academy (KSA) will organize Part I and Part II of its 7th edition in Prishtina, Kosovo, with a special focus on “Peace building in post-conflict areas – Diplomacy, Leadership and Negotiations”, that will be realized by Kosovo Center for Diplomacy. The Kosovo International Summer Academy will be welcoming distinguished professors from the world’s most prestigious universities, diplomats, high-ranking officials, and representatives of civic society, to teach courses and deliver speeches on: 

·         Politics
·         Economics
·         Diplomacy
·         Professional Etiquette and Protocol
·         Leadership
·         Peaceful Conflict Resolution
·         EU Integration Process
·         International Law
·         Human Rights
·         International Justice
·         International Security and
·         The Role of Civic Society in Peacebuilding  

Awarded Certificates and ECTS
All participants and attendees who fulfill the requirements during the program will be awarded with certificates from Kosovo Center of Diplomacy and University College “Universum”. Successful students will receive 6 ECTS credits of the course of ‘’War and Peace: Historical actors, structures and processes’’, issued by the University College “Universum” . 

Excursions and Cultural Activities
Throughout your study-abroad experience in Kosovo you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of excursions and cultural activities.
·   Tour of the Institutions of Kosovo

·   Field trip to Prizren

·   Field trip to Mitrovica

·   Field trip to Gadime Cave

·   Tour of museums and statues

·   Meetings with high-ranking officials and ambassadors 

·  Citizens of all countries in the world are eligible to apply

·   Undergraduate, graduate and post graduate students (who are enrolled or have already completed aforementioned levels of university studies) and young professionals. 

·   Applicants born in 1985 and after

·   You must be in good academic standing 

 Scholarships awarding criteria:

The following criteria are considered in the admissions process:

1.  Submitting your application early

2.  Financial need

3.  Merit and existing leadership experience4.  Intercultural experience


PART I – July 10 – 20, 2019

Priority deadline: May 5th, 2019.Visa deadline: May 10th, 2019 (This deadline applies if you need a visa to enter Kosovo)

.Final deadline: May 31st, 2019 (Applicants who hold a citizenship of a country that does not need visa to enter Kosovo). 

PART II – August 12 – 22, 2019

Priority deadline: May 15th, 2019.Visa deadline: May 18th, 2019 (This Deadline applies if you need a visa to enter Kosovo)

Final deadline: June 15th, 2019 (Applicants who hold a citizenship of a country that does not need visa to enter Kosovo).

SES Debate: Returning IS Veterans

After a successful MUN, the debate committee has worked hard on its next event! On the 18th of March the committee will host its very own debate. The topic will be: ‘Barbarians at the gate: Returning IS veterans as a threat to European stability. To introduce the topic, we will have a guest speaker opening the afternoon at 15:30. City Trip Düsseldorf

After a weekend of fun in Dwingeloo it is already time for our second weekend away! The SES is going international on the second of November. We will be travelling to the lovely town of Düsseldorf to get some rest after the exams. During the weekend the newly formed activity committee will show you around town and at night there is time for some cheeky German beers in one of the bars of Düsseldorf. The city trip is a nice way to get to know students from the different years and to see something more than the inside of Dolly’s. Already excited and want to come along? Sign up!

Non-Members: €95,-

The participation fee has to be transferred to SES before the 2nd of November to secure your spot. After this date your place will be given to someone else. There will be no refunds after the 26th of October, but the activity committee will try to help you find a replacement.
